Planets

Parents,

This week we are going to learn about the planets. Students are expected to know the planets in our solar system. Some of the supporting websites will text students about different terrains on planets.

The first website teaches about the different planets, but has a fun arcade aspect to the game as well. Planet Pursuit!

Here is a fun jigsaw puzzle that teaches what order the planets go in the solar system. The puzzle gives a wonderful visual of the solar system. Jig-saw

Liquids, Solids, & Gases

Dear Parents,

This week we are learning about the different properties of matter such as liquids, solids, and gases. By using the following website, you can discover that a solid doesn't take the shape of its container, as opposed to liquids and gases. See what you know with the activity of Testing Time.

This next site gives a wonderful animated clip about solids, liquids, and gases along with a little music video with lyrics that you can print out at home. Study Jams!

Graphs

This week we are learning how to construct graphs and tables in class. Graphs and tables are important tools in conducting scientific experiements. They help in keeping data organized in a meaningful way. The requirements for the information about graphs comes for the state curriculum listed in the TEKS.
